Ryan Reynolds and other characters wear Kobold Phantom Chronograph watches in the 2017 sci-fi movie Life.

Five of the six fictional characters in the film wear the Kobold Phantom Chronograph watch: Ryan Reynolds (Rory Adams, USA, ISS engineer), Rebecca Ferguson (Dr. Miranda North, UK, CDC quarantine officer), Hiroyuki Sanada (Sho Murakami, Japan, ISS systems engineer), Ariyon Bakare (Dr. Hugh Derry, UK, ISS exobiologist), and Olga Dihovichnaya (Ekaterina "Kat" Golovkina, Russia, ISS Mission Commander.). 

The watches are all on original Kobold canvas strap straps and appear throughout the film.

The appearance of the brand in this particular film is a realistic choice: in 2008, during NASA’s space shuttle mission STS-123 to the International Space Station (ISS), astronaut Gregory Johnson wore a Kobold Phantom Chronograph.
