One of Steve McQueen's favorite watches was a Hanhart 417 chronograph watch.

The watch worn by Steve McQueen has a stainless steel case with a black dial and two subdials. It was worn on a large leather strap.

Hanhart is a German manufacturer that specialized in producing chronographs for the German Air Force. The company still exists today and even produces a modern version of the 417 and a 1954 version.

The most famous photo which features the watch is the one taken by John Dominis for the LIFE magazine in 1963, with McQueen sitting in a chair in his Palm Springs home, wearing Persol 714 sunglasses.

McQueen mostly wore the watch when he was riding his motocycles, but it even shows up in a few of his films, including The War Lover (1962).
